Last Saturday, September 7th, we had the pleasure of experiencing “A Day in Garzón.”We visited the Colinas de Garzón olive oil plant for the first time, the olive mill belonging to the Agroland group, owned by Alejandro Bulgheroni, who also owns Bodega Garzón and Bodega Brisas.
The estate has a varietal garden with more than a dozen different olive varieties from Italy, Spain, France, Israel, and Argentina, giving their oils a fresh and unique sensory profile.
During the visit, we took a guided tour of their boutique plant, learned about the production process, and tasted three of their extra virgin olive oils, accompanied by artisanal bread, cheeses, nuts, and olives.
We were greatly impressed not only by their stunning facilities but also by the natural surroundings, which offered a truly breathtaking landscape.
We then headed to the always amazing Bodega Garzón, which never ceases to amaze us, with each visit better than the last.
Located in Maldonado, three kilometers from Pueblo Garzón and twenty kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, it sits on natural terraces and is built into the hills, making it a place full of magic. This winery has been ranked 6th among the top 50 wineries in the world according to the 2023 World’s Best Vineyards awards.
It has a vineyard with over 1,000 plots and a 19,050 m2 building. It is a global icon, being the first sustainable winery outside North America.
Upon arrival, we enjoyed a guided tractor tour of the vineyard, followed by a winery tour while tasting three wines from the Reserva line during the visit, accompanied by snacks.
We wrapped up the day with an exquisite four-course pairing lunch, specially prepared for us in the spectacular VIP room of their exclusive restaurant, paired with an excellent selection of their wines.
It is a source of pride for Uruguay to have places like this, with excellent quality standards that meet the expectations of the most demanding visitors from all over the world.
As for us, we always love coming back and admire the wonderful winery team, who have a clear understanding of hospitality, no matter their role.
Thanks a lot to the amazing team at Colinas and Bodega Garzón, who prepared our visit, welcomed us, and took care of every detail to ensure we had an unforgettable experience.
And most importantly, endless thanks to the friends who joined us, from many different nationalities, filling up the spots in just a few days.
We were happy!Cheers!
