Last Saturday, May 11th, we visited our friends at Viña Edén Winery.
With beautiful autumn sunshine, we fully enjoyed this world-class winery, located in one of Uruguay's most beautiful places, in Maldonado city, 120km from Montevideo.
From its terrace, you can appreciate incredible landscapes of the Villa Edén hills and its vineyards, which are located on rocky soils, where the mineral character and oceanic influence create ideal conditions for the production of their uniquely styled wines.
Viña Eden was recently the winner of the award for best responsible wine tourism experience in Uruguay according to the OMET (World Wine Tourism organization), for its production of high-quality wines, combined with environmental care and promotion of local development.
We toured the winery, learning about its history, winemaking philosophy, and production methods. During the tour, we were able to taste a 2024 Tannat straight from the cement tank – absolutely delightful!
Later, we enjoyed an exquisite lunch made with local products, paired with these wines: Methode Champenoise Brut Nature, Chardonnay 2022, Tannat Reserva 2018, and Marselan Licor.
Thanks a lot to the entire winery team for welcoming us with such warmt. It's always a pleasure to visit them, and we amaze as if it were the first time.
And of course, and fundamentally, infinite thanks to the friends who accompanied us with such lovely energy and made an unforgettable day possible.
