1- What are the requirements to participate in a Wine Explorers Uruguay tour?
The only requirement is to be over 18 years old if you plan to enjoy the wines offered on the tour and to have made the corresponding reservation and advance payment.
2- What is included in the experiences?
Each proposal is different as the tours are personalized to you. However, each tour will include the following:
Private transportation with a driver
Guided tour in your selected language of the winery and/or vineyard
Wine tasting accompanied by snacks and/or a pairing lunch (depending on the chosen option).
Not included:
Tips (winery staff and driver)
Personal purchases
Wines or meals not included in the arranged tour.
Optional with an additional cost:
Accompanying guide present throughout the day.
In each winery, you will be welcomed by the establishment's guides who will lead the guided tour in your selected language. However, if you would like an additional guide to accompany you all day to enhance your experience, this can be requested at an additional cost.
3- Is it possible to request a special menu?
Certainly! Simply indicate your needs in advance when making your reservation (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic, etc.). It is also your responsibility to inform us of any food allergies or health concerns in advance.
We are not responsible for offering an alternative menu if communicated on the same day of the experience.
4- In what language are the experiences conducted?
In most wineries, tours are offered in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. At the time of booking the experience, we will coordinate the language in which your tour will be provided.
5- How can I pay for my tour?
Payments for experiences are made through bank transfer (BROU – ITAU – SANTANDER or Red Pagos) for residents in Uruguay or those with a Uruguayan bank account.
In the case of non-residents, payment is made via a PAYPAL link for payment by credit card.
6- What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to change the date of your experience, this can be done up to 48 hours in advance with no additional charge (subject to the availability of the new date).
In case of needing to cancel the already paid experience, if done up to 10 days in advance, a full refund will be offered or kept as a credit for a future experience.
Up to 72 hours in advance of the experience date, 50% will be refunded, or left as a credit for the future.
After that time, no refunds will be made.

2- What do the experiences include?

-Transfer by private bus round trip from Montevideo
-Guided tour in Spanish - English through the winery and/or vineyard
-Wine tasting accompanied by lunch or dinner (depending on the proposal)
- Tips (winery staff and driver)
3- Are there special prices for minors or people who do not wish to consume alcohol?
Special prices are available for minors. The age range and prices depend on each establishment's criteria. If you would like to participate in the experience but do not wish to drink wine (for health or other reasons), the discount on the price is subject to the visited establishment's criteria.
4- Can tours be arranged on dates other than those planned?
Yes, of course. We can coordinate a personalized visit to any winery in Uruguay, with transportation included, on the day you prefer, with no minimum number of people.
5- What are the current payment methods?
Payments for experiences can be made via bank transfer (BROU – ITAU – SANTANDER) or with a MI DINERO card from RED PAGOS.
If you would like to pay by credit card, this can be done via MERCADO PAGO or PAYPAL (requires an additional 6% surcharge).
Payment in cash on the day of the experience is not permitted.
6- What is the cancellation policy?
In case of canceling a paid reservation on a Group Tour, if done more than 48 hours in advance of the experience date, the full amount can be refunded or kept as a credit for future Wine Explorers events.
Up to 24 hours in advance of the experience date, 50% of the cost can be refunded or kept as a credit for future Wine Explorers events.
After that time, no refunds are possible.
7- What route is taken during the transfer to the wineries?
All group activities with transportation have Montevideo Shopping as the starting point, in front of the entrance to Casino Maroñas (Luis A. de Herrera 1290).
The route to the establishment depends on the final destination. Additional stops can be made along the route both on the way there and back, as long as they do not involve a detour.
We recommend checking the route on each occasion to coordinate the stop.
8- What happens if I don't arrive at the meeting point at the established time?
A reminder of the departure time will be sent to each attendee the day before the experience.
Departure times are punctual. There will be a 5-minute tolerance. After that time, the bus will have to depart to keep with the day’s itinerary. No additional claims or money refunds are possible if a tour is missed.
9- Can a special menu be requested?
Of course! As long as you indicate your dietary needs when making your reservation (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic, etc.)
It is your responsibility to inform us if you have any food allergies or health concerns.
We are not responsible for offering an alternative menu if only communicated on the same day of the experience.
10- In what language are the group experiences conducted?
All group tours are conducted bilingually (English/Spanish).

Private door-to-door transportation within Montevideo
Tour of the winery and vineyards
Wine tasting and pairing lunch
2- What is not included?
Tips for winery staff and driver (optional, at your discretion)
Purchase of wines or other personal consumption
3- How is the experience coordinated once the person receives the Gift Card?
The interested party must contact Wine Explorers through the channels listed on the gift card and check availability for the desired date.
The gift can also be applied to any of the group excursions organized by Wine Explorers. If the excursion has a higher cost than the Gift Card, the difference will have to be paid.
4- How long is the Gift Card valid once the recipient receives it?
Once issued, the Gift Card is valid for 6 months. It is possible to coordinate the experience for a later date, as long as this is arranged before the expiration of the Gift Card.
