This is how we celebrated St. John’s Night at Familia Deicas: a magical evening of fire, history, and wine, in an experience co-created by Wine Explorers and Bodega Familia Deicas that connected us with winter, tradition, and the joy of coming together.
A magical night of fire, history, and fine wine: this is how we experienced St. John’s Night at Familia Deicas.
For many, St. John’s Night is one of the most magical nights of the year. And in 2026, we celebrated it with a very special edition at the spectacular Bodega Familia Deicas, where we came together once again to honor winter, fire, wine, and tradition.
It was a unique evening, designed to be enjoyed with all the senses: history, gastronomy, live music, rituals, spiced aromas, and great Uruguayan wines in a setting full of soul.
An ancestral ritual in a historic setting

The experience began with a tour of the winery, discovering its history, its philosophy, and some of the most emblematic spaces of Familia Deicas.
Then came one of the most anticipated moments of the evening: the bonfire ritual. Around the fire, we shared wishes, intentions, and good omens in a ceremony accompanied by live bagpipe music.
The fire, the spiced mulled wine, and the emotion in the air made that moment truly special. It was a pause to connect with the energy of winter, let go of what we wish to leave behind, and make space for new beginnings.
A winter dinner paired with great wines

After the ritual, a dinner specially created for the occasion awaited us at the winery’s restaurant. There, we shared a warm and comforting winter-inspired gastronomic proposal, paired with a carefully selected range of Familia Deicas wines.
A special closing moment in the Preludio Cellar

After dinner, we went down to the historic Preludio Cellar, a unique space built by the Jesuits in 1745 and declared a National Historic Monument.
There, we closed the evening with coffee and petits fours, surrounded by history, stone, and the barrels where Preludio wine rests. It was the perfect setting for an intimate and memorable ending to the experience.
As a special detail, each guest was able to prepare their own souvenir to take home: a blend of spices to recreate mulled wine, together with the recipe to bring back, in some way, the spirit of St. John’s Night at home.
Thanks a lot to Bodega Familia Deicas for opening their doors to us once again and for co-creating such a special experience together with us.
And above all, thank you to each and every person who chose our proposal to experience this magical night and made it possible.
We carry with us the warmth of the fire, the emotion we shared, and the desire to meet again.
Thank you for joining us once again.
