Vintage Night at Primuseumm

We celebrated the Month of Memories with a very special evening at Primuseum, where history, gastronomy, aged vintages from Bodegas Carrau, and live tango came together in an intimate and memorable experience in the heart of Montevideo’s Old City.

An Evening of Memories, Wine, and History at Primuseum

August was the Month of Memories for Wine Explorers, and we wanted to celebrate it with an experience that would take us on a journey through our history, our culture, and also through great wines that have beautifully stood the test of time.

On August 19, we gathered at Primuseum, in the heart of Montevideo’s Old City, for a truly special evening.

For many of our guests, it was also their first opportunity to discover this remarkable place. One of the things we enjoyed most was seeing their surprise as they explored its extraordinary collection of primus stoves, antiques, and unique corners that tell part of Uruguay’s everyday history.

A Place That Takes You Back in Time

From the moment you step inside Primuseum, it is hard not to stop and look around.

Its collection brings together thousands of objects and antiques that transport visitors to another era, turning the venue into much more than simply the setting for a dinner.

Every corner has something to discover, making it the perfect place for an experience created especially around the idea of memories.

The evening began with a walk through the museum and an introduction to its history, while our guests discovered a place that, despite being located in the heart of Montevideo’s Old City, many had never visited before.

Wines That Tell Their Own Stories

The experience continued around the table with a very special selection of aged vintages from Bodegas Carrau.

We were joined by Marcos Carrau, who presented the wines and shared some of their history and evolution with us.

There is always something special about tasting wines that have spent years aging in the bottle. It gives us the opportunity to discover how they have evolved over time and to reconnect with vintages that are part of the story of one of Uruguay’s most important winemaking families.

The wines were paired with an excellent gastronomic proposal created especially for the occasion, making each part of the dinner an integral part of a carefully designed experience.

Live Tango on a Very Uruguayan Evening

And because memories are also deeply connected to culture, music played a very special role throughout the evening.

We enjoyed an intimate live tango performance, featuring exceptionally talented musicians, singers, and dancers who appeared throughout the experience and surprised our guests along the way.

The closeness to the artists and the unique atmosphere of Primuseum made the performance feel different and especially personal, almost as if we were sharing the evening among friends.

History, wine, gastronomy, and tango came together naturally, creating one of those experiences where the true highlight is the harmony of all the elements combined.

An Evening to Remember

It was an intimate, warm, and very special evening in which we celebrated not only the Month of Memories, but also part of our history and our culture.

A very special thank you to Primuseum for welcoming us and opening the doors to such a unique place, to Bodegas Carrau, and especially to Marcos Carrau for joining us and sharing these remarkable wines, as well as to all the artists and everyone who helped make the experience possible.
