Last Wednesday, August 21st, we enjoyed the “Cava Gourmet” experience at the incredible Cava of the iconic Bar Tabaré. The exquisite dinner was crafted by chef Elsa Paulet and paired with a selection of high-end “Maderos” wines from Uruguay's oldest winery, Los Cerros de San Juan, presented by our dear friend and sommelier Patricia Rodao.
The menu was as follows:
Step 1: Salmon bites on a crispy bed of fine herbs and sesame seeds Wine: Maderos Blend de Blancs 2022
Step 2: Eggplant Parmesan Wine: Maderos Cabernet Franc 2019
Step 3: Tannat Beef Tenderloin with Swiss-style Potatoes Wine: Maderos Tannat
Step 4: Alaska (sponge cake base, passion fruit ice cream, Italian meringue, and blueberry sauce) Wines: Maderos Cabernet Sauvignon and Lahusen Extra Brut Rosé
Thanks a lot to the excellent team at Bar Tabaré for hosting us with such excellence, to Patricia Rodao for her wonderful wine presentation, and especially to all the friends from many different nationalities who joined us, filling the available spots in just a few days.
