On Sunday, June 23rd, we experienced a celebration that we love sharing more each year due to all the magic surrounding it, the St. John´s Eve (Noche de San Juan).
The event took place at Bodega Sacromonte in Jacksonville, Montevideo, where the old Bodega Faraut used to be, and which was recently known as Agrícola Jackson.
Upon arrival, we toured the renovated winery with its director, Edmond Borit, and sommelier Álvaro Fros. Under the full moon, in front of the vineyards, we participated in the bonfire ritual, where we offered our intentions to the fire, accompanied by classic spiced mulled wine and live bagpipes.
We then enjoyed an exquisite candlelit dinner prepared by chef Tupambaé Cámara, paired with a selection of the winery's award-winning wines.
As a grand finale, we raffled a night for two people in one of the four lodges located in the Sacromonte vineyards in Maldonado, in the Sierras de Carapé. These lodges were recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 best places in the world to visit.
Thanks a lot to the entire incredible team at the winery for welcoming us with excellence, taking care of every detail, and to all the friends who joined us.
¡Viva San Juan!
