Last Saturday August 14th we visited Bodega Garzón, which was chosen as the "Best in the New World" in the Wine Star Awards 2018 of the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Located in Maldonado, three kilometers from Pueblo Garzón and twenty from the Atlantic Ocean, Bodega Garzón is situated on natural terraces built into the mountains. These elements transform it into a place full of magic with a unique energy.
The vineyards include more than 1,000 plots and a 19,050m2 building. Bodega Garzón is a worldwide icon for being the first sustainable winery outside of North America.
We toured the winery, the vineyard by car, we tasted 4 of their wines and we closed the day with a pairing lunch with 3 other exclusive wines that are not found in the local market and can only be enjoyed there: their Natural Sparkling Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs, its Alabariño reserva 2021 and its Seis Manos red blend, which our Wine Explorers loved.
Despite the fact that the sun was the great absentee of the day, each of the friends who accompanied usshone, creating an atmosphere of enjoyment from the beginning to the end.
Of course, we had the raffles and festivities that are already part of our tours.
