Wine Tourism in Uruguay: A Premium and Unforgettable Experience at Colinas de Garzón & Bodega Garzón.

A day that reminded us why it’s always worth returning.

Wine tourism in Uruguay continues to flourish, and experiences like our visit to Colinas de Garzón and Bodega Garzón show why this region has become an essential destination. In this new Wine Explorers Uruguay proposal, we explored two icons of tourism in Maldonado through a premium itinerary designed especially for those seeking quality, exclusivity, and an authentic connection with the land.

Surrounded by unique landscapes, memorable flavors, and the wonderful energy of the group, we enjoyed a day that reminded us that there is always something new to discover when we return to the places where we have been happy.

Colinas de Garzón: Uruguayan olive oil and genuine hospitality

Our experience began at the Colinas de Garzón Olive Oil Mill, one of the leading producers of extra virgin olive oil in Uruguay.

Together with Mauricio, we toured the plant and learned about each step of its production process.

The tasting: three premium varieties paired with artisanal breads, cheeses, olives, and local delicacies,  offered a sensory immersion that reflects the essence of gastronomic wine tourism in the region.

Bodega Garzón: world-class wines and a refined pairing lunch

We then continued to Bodega Garzón, one of the most awarded wineries in the world and a key destination for wine tourism in Maldonado.

A tractor ride through the vineyards connected us with the land before a guided tour and a tasting of three wines.

The most anticipated moment awaited us in the VIP dining room of the restaurant led by Francis Mallmann, where we enjoyed a four-course wine-pairing lunch designed exclusively for Wine Explorers.

Every dish and every wine was a carefully orchestrated celebration.

Beyond the scenery and the gastronomic offerings, what makes each experience truly unique are the people who join us: explorers from different parts of the world sharing curiosity, joy, and a genuine desire to enjoy the moment. The group’s energy is the heart of every experience.
