This is how we celebrated St. John’s Night at Familia Deicas: a magical evening of fire, history, and wine, in an experience co-created by Wine Explorers and Bodega Familia Deicas that connected us with winter, tradition, and the joy of coming together.

On Saturday, May 16, we enjoyed a new Wine Explorers experience at Olivos de las Ánimas, located in the rural area of Pan de Azúcar, Maldonado. We shared a beautiful day in the countryside, including an olive harvest, a milling experience, olive oil production, and a paired lunch by Latoro, featuring olive oils from Olivos de las Ánimas and wines from Cantera Montes de Oca Winery.

Our journey to northern Uruguay took us through Artigas and Rivera in a completely new experience for Wine Explorers. Over two days, we discovered amethyst mines, family-owned wineries, border landscapes, local gastronomy, and wine projects with an identity deeply shaped by their surroundings. An adventure through amethysts and vineyards that reminded us, once again, of everything Uruguay has to offer when explored with time, curiosity, and a sensitive eye.
