Last Wednesday, November 20th, we hosted “From North to South,” a wine pairing dinner that combined top-notch gastronomy with a selection of high-end wines from Cerro Chapeu, a prestigious northern winery.
The venue was the charming "La Guinda" restaurant, a cozy space with the perfect ambiance for the occasion. The menu was created by chef Mariana Tucuna, who achieved Third Place in the World Grilling Championship in Medellín, Colombia.
Joining us was Margarita Carrau, one of the most prominent figures in the history of Uruguayan winemaking. Through her wines, we traveled to the Rivera terroir, where the winery is located.
The menu that delighted everyone featured:
First Course
Bruschetta with soft cheese spread and nuts
Wine: Cerro Chapeu Sauvignon Blanc Sur Lie
Second Course
Smoked sweetbreads in a white wine reduction
Wine: Cerro Chapeu 1752 Petit Manseng
Third Course
Caponata with country bread
Wine: Cerro Chapeu Nebbiolo
Fourth Course
Braised lamb with roasted pumpkin
Wine: Cerro Chapeu Batovi Tannat
Fifth Course
Smoked chocolate textures with nut crumble
Wine: Castel Pujol Folklore Manseng Noir
It was truly an unforgettable wine and culinary experience.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Margarita Carrau for her guidance, to Mariana Tucuna and the amazing team at La Guinda for their exquisite cuisine and outstanding service, and, most importantly, to everyone who joined us from different parts of the world. The event sold out in just a few days!
Cheers to an incredible evening!
